Paris Lights

Number Five. In Paris there is a tradition each winter that the city lights up. Some of the most popular places to see the Christmas lights are , , and their surrounding streets. This year there is a on the Champs Elysee as well as one on Place Saint Sulpice.

Number Four. Paris has some great hammams and in winter its especially nice for warming up and relaxing. One original more modern hammams include the where you can also have dinner, relax and enjoy the hammam. Another hammam that seems to be very good and is only for women is the Hammam Pacha which is in Saint Denis but now seems to have another location in Paris. For super luxury there is the which costs 120 Euros for non hotel guests. Here they have an indoor pool with their hammam.

Le Cirque - Circus Season

Number Two, le . The circus has a season in Paris and it's winter.
It seems that several really talented troupes come to perform in the "city of lights". The often has small circus acts. Currently there is which looks stunning. Also there is the which supposedly originates from France. The , "the circus of winter" is a permanent circus in the 3rd arrondisement known for its traditional circus. is debuting a new 3-D circus this season. I look forward to checking this out to see what its about.

La Grande Roue (Ferris Wheel) at Place de la Concorde


Number One. A new view of the city can be seen from the Place de la Concorde this winter. As the is covered and heated, this makes for an original winter view of the city. Apparently this was originally built for the year 2000 but I have recently noticed that it has been put back up for winter 2008 until January 2009. Ride costs 9 euros per person.

I've been feeling a bit boxed in with the weather lately. Its quite chilly and when its cold it is easy to stay indoors and feel lazy.
